Ordering Information

Placing an order and payment:

Every design is a unique “one-off” and there is only one of each design available, unless otherwise stated. Every design piece is indivually conceived and created by designer Debbi Harrison Bond. All vintage jewellery pieces are carefully sourced and meticulously examined prior to packaging.

All orders are carefully wrapped in acid-free tissue for future preservation and beautifully boxed. We aim to despatch items (excluding bespoke or customised items) within 3 days of receipt of payment. If you require your order urgently please let us know before ordering and we will do our utmost to accommodate your timescale. We happily ship overseas to international customers worldwide.

Please note that a contract does not exist between us until we have confirmed acceptance of the order. This term is simply to protect us in case of product unavailability or pricing error. Should such an error have occurred we would of course refund you immediately.

Delivery within the UK and internationally:

Postage and packing within the UK is via Next Day Special Delivery (£7.95 small or £8.95 standard parcel), which includes insurance up to £500.

International (outside UK) shipping is £14.95 (GBP) for small items or £17.95 for larger items. International shipping is via Royal Mail Tracked International shipping only. Insurance up to £250 is included. If your order is valued over this and you would like additional insurance, please contact us prior to ordering to discuss.

Large orders of multiple items, or to a value over insurance limits, will be subject to additional shipping costs for insurance and packaging purposes. These will be invoiced direct. Please contact us if you have questions regarding this prior to ordering.

Customs or import duties may be levied on international orders by the recipient country. We have no control over these charges or how long customs clearance may take. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you may wish to contact your local customs office for further information. We am not liable for any such import charges. We also cannot be held responsible for items delayed, lost or damaged in transit, but insurance is obtained for all parcels, up to the limits mentioned above. In the unlikely event the item is damaged or lost during transit we will initiate an insurance claim via Royal Mail and reimbursement will be made once insurance payment arrives.

Delivery timescales for bespoke or customised orders:
Delivery timescales for bespoke or customised orders will differ depending upon the complexity of the order and materials required. We aim to complete bespoke or customised orders within 3 – 6 weeks, but accurate timescales for individual orders will be discussed as part of the bespoke ordering process.

Refunds & Returns:

We are certain that you will be delighted with your order from Vintage Headdresses. However, should you not be completely satisfied with your purchase, we will happily refund the total cost of your order, excluding all postage and packaging, on “ready to wear”* goods returned within 7 days of receipt. (*For hygiene reasons we cannot offer a refund for pierced earrings). Notice of intention to return must be received via email within 3 days of receipt and the item must be returned strictly within 7 days. No returns are accepted after this period.  All returns will be refunded within 7 days of receipt of the goods, usually within 72 hours.

Please note that a refund will not be given if products are returned used, marked or damaged in any way, if tags have been removed or tampered with, or if returned in a condition unsuitable for re-sale. Products not returned strictly within 7 days will not be refunded. Refunds will only be given if the item and all gift packaging (excluding external wrapping) is returned in the exact same condition as it was sent.

We require that all goods are returned by Special Delivery in the UK (which is the only delivery method to provide insurance on jewellery items), and fully insured, as we cannot be responsible for any goods damaged or lost within transit upon their return to us. The cost of return postage will be met by you. If the item is damaged or lost during transit the buyer will be responsible for claiming on insurance. Please address all returns to:

International returns must also be fully insured and sent via insured priority/express shipping. International customers please note that if you are returning goods from outside the EU, you must complete and attach a customs form to the parcel stating that the package contains “returned goods”. Please also write “RETURNED GOODS” clearly on all sides of the parcel. Should this not be done, and a customs fee levied on re-entry to the UK, we will refuse payment and the package will be returned to you. Do contact us if you have questions.

Please note that returns are not available on bespoke or customised items.

Vintage Condition:

We want you to be entirely satisfied with your purchase. All the vintage pieces used within the designs are in their original vintage condition. They have been selected for their beauty, character and appearance but may show some very slight signs of age. They are, after all, vintage, some more than 100 years old. There may be some minor wear to the plating of the piece or very minor foil spotting, age-related dullness or tiny chips to occasional stones. Some very detailed pieces may be missing tiny marcasites or stones virtually unnoticeable without a jeweller’s loupe. These will not detract from the beauty of the piece or we would not use them. Flaws will be minor, but vintage items are up to 130 years old, so please do ask any relevant questions about the items which interest you prior to ordering. Particularly aged pieces will be stated as “aged”. Consequently, the price of these aged pieces will have been adjusted accordingly.

Tarnish is a natural process and once items leave us, proper care becomes the responsibility of the purchaser. Plated items may wear with time, exposing the base metal. We cannot be held responsible for any allergic reactions, to metal or otherwise. All items are constructed from wire, metal and glass crystals and materials, and may have small objects or sharp parts. Care must be taken when handling, wearing and using such items. Vintage Headdresses does not accept responsibility for any loss, injury or damage arising from the use, misuse or negligent supervision of such items. In particular, such items are not toys and are unsuitable for small children and should be kept out of reach and fully supervised at all times.
